All of our onsite laser technicians have received extensive internal and external training in laser health and safety and hold qualifications in professional laser display safety. Onsite personnel also hold an International Powered Access Federation (IPAF) license to operate scissor lifts and cherry pickers.
Risk assessments and method statements are completed as standard, and thorough HSE training and accreditation is provided for all onsite staff. We have also implemented PAT testing of all equipment before each and every event to ensure the highest level of electrical safety and peace of mind for our clients.
As an ILDA member, we adhere to their code of ethics and business practice. This means that we follow local guidance and legislation for the safe use of lasers in whichever country we are operating. In the UK this is the PLASA Guidance for the Safety of Display Lasers, and the Control of Optical Radiation at work act 2010.
In January 2013 PLASA were asked by the Health and Safety Executive to review and replace the aging HSG95 laser safety document. Laser Grafix was privileged to be given the opportunity to sit on the committee during this process and was able to offer input for the subsequent new document, Guidance for the Safety of Display Lasers.
